The fourth feature film by 'Ex-Drummer' director Koen Mortier follows Liam, a neglected teen who is taken away from his parents’ home, where substances and violence reigned. Trading his school for a closed youth facility, he has trouble starting over again as he gets bullied even worse there. Although Liam finds solace with a new friend and social workers at first, when he revisits old traumas during counselling, his past keeps haunting him. 'Skunk' is based on the novel written by Geert Taghon about his many years of experiences in forensic youth psychiatry.
The leading role in 'Skunk' is played by emerging Belgian talent Thibaud Dooms. Supporting roles are for Dirk Roofthooft, Boris Van Severen, Natali Broods, Colin Van Eeckhout and Sarah Vandeursen. Producers are Eurydice Gysel and Koen Mortier for CZAR TV & Film in co-production with Baldr Film. Just like for Mortier's previous film 'Angel', Nicolas Karakatsanis acted as DoP and the score was composed by the well known metal band Amenra, whose frontman Colin Van Eeckhout can be seen in the film.
